NEW LABOR ATTACHÉ TAKES HELM AT MWO HONG KONG

Hong Kong – The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Hong Kong proudly announces the assumption of office by the newly appointed Labor Attaché, Atty. Cesar L. Chavez, Jr. He arrived in Hong Kong on Christmas Day, 25 December 2025, marking the beginning of his new assignment.

Labor Attaché Chavez brings with him twenty-seven (27) years of dedicated public service, 13 years of which in overseas postings and 14 years with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

Before his appointment in Hong Kong, he served as Labor Attaché in Taipei (2017-2025), Kuwait (2013-2016), and as Welfare Officer in Riyadh (2009-2012) where he championed programs and services for overseas Filipino workers.

On his first day in office, Labor Attaché Chavez assured the OFWs in Hong Kong that under his leadership, MWO Hong Kong will further strengthen and improve its programs and services for OFWs.

Labor Attaché Chavez’ appointment at MWO Hong Kong clearly reflects the Department of Migrant Workers’ strong commitment to protecting rights, uplifting lives, and promoting the welfare of OFWs. This mission is guided by the Department’s core values of Compassion, Integrity, Transparency, and Excellence in Services (CITES). ###
